About us
The EADI Gender Justice Working Group is an “under construction” vibrant, global community of feminist researchers, practitioners, and activists committed to transforming gender-power dynamics in development, research and practice. Rooted in the belief that gender justice goes beyond inclusion and requires structural change, the group convenes dialogues, co-creation labs, mentoring spaces and conferences to challenge conventional epistemologies and build new knowledge. We want to focus on how to jointly act with our individual expertise.
Through its flagship initiative — the Gender Lab — the Working Group brings together early-career and senior actors from diverse regions around the world to share experiences, design innovative methodologies and build collaborative networks that bridge academia and activism.
Our mission
Our mission is to advance intersectional, transformative understandings of gender justice in Development Studies and allied fields — and to translate that knowledge into practical, actionable change and collaborations.
- We aim to:
- Foster inclusive, feminist knowledge production that honours multiple perspectives and resists colonial legacies.
- Build a strong network of scholars, practitioners and activists who work together across regions, institutional roles and career stages.
- Create platforms for research, method innovation and collaborative activism so that gender-based insights are not simply studied but mobilised for social change.
