EADI Gender Justice Working Group members, Catalina Domínguez and Evangelina Martich presented their policy brief on child marriage and early unions in Latin America at an EADI Virtual Dialogue, within the EADI Gender Justice Working Group, on the occasion of the International Day of the Girl. Thank you to José-Roberto Luna Manzanero for moderating, and to everyone who joined.Three takeaways for anyone designing policy or programs on child protection in the region:01 — Legal bans are necessary, but they do not reach informal unions, which are the majority.02 — Prevention has to include adult men, families and communities in these unions and society as a whole, not only the girls.03 — Health, education and justice need protocols to detect early unions and treat them as gender-based violence.The full brief, in Spanish, is linked below.

On Monday, 20 April 2026, more than 60 participants joined our webinar on Gender and Urbanism in Southeast Asia! Our heartfelt gratitude to all of those who participated. 

On 18 March 2026, we hosted our third webinar “Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls: Reflections and Practices on Feminist Participatory Grantmaking (FPG).” The session featured insightful contributions from Erika M Sales-Pronk (Mama Cash) and Jessica Horn (Author, African Feminist Praxis: Cartographies of Liberatory Worldmaking), who reflected on the evolving landscape of feminist philanthropy. The speakers highlighted both challenges and opportunities for feminist grantmaking.
