I am an Ecuadorian social impact consultant with over 18 years of experience working at the intersection of gender equality, social entrepreneurship, and community development. My professional career has focused on designing and implementing initiatives that promote women’s economic empowerment, financial inclusion, and the prevention of economic violence. I have collaborated with international organizations such as UN Women, UNICEF, and Plan International, as well as the private sector, in the US, Ecuador, Chile and now Europe.

I'm also the co-convener of EADI's Gender Justice working group and the organizer of first Gender Lab, in Lisbon.

As a Gender Justice and Forests Campaign Associate at the Global Forest Coalition, I coordinated activities and contributed to publications on the intersections of gender, climate change, and forest governance through an intersectional lens.

My collaboration with Mama Cash deepened my understanding of feminist funding ecosystems and the sustainability of grassroots gender justice movements. At Oxfam Philippines, I supported the Sexual Health Empowerment project by validating outputs and documenting outcomes on SRHR initiatives.

Latrell Felix

University of Groningen

Philippines, based in The Netherlands

The queer community lies at the heart of my academic and advocacy work. My research draws inspiration from their voices of resilience, resistance, and lived experience, particularly my study on queer religiosity, which continues to inform my scholarly perspective. I also engage in transgender health and rights advocacy, having served as a community relations officer where I collaborated with transgender communities and contributed to transgender health research under the National Institutes of Health in the Philippines.

These experiences have strengthened my commitment to producing scholarship that is both critically engaged and socially responsive, a work that not only examines but also uplifts the communities it seeks to understand.
